Parenting is a terrifying and incredibly beautiful experience all at the same time. The process of reproduction is responsible for a variety of emotions, including a sense of joy and satisfaction that are unique to the process. However, millions of couples are deprived of the opportunity to experience this emotional experience as a result of the rising rates of infertility that couples are experiencing in today's society. According to estimates, fifteen percent of couples will deal with difficulties in conceiving a child.Women are affected by infertility forty percent of the time, while men only account for thirty percent of the cases. Approximately ten percent of the occurrences are attributed to factors that have not been identified or diagnosed, while the remaining thirty percent are attributed to both couples.

In the year 2020, the fertility rate in India was 2.200 births per woman respectively. In comparison to the values for 2019, this represents a decrease of 0.9%. In 2021, the fertility rate will be 2.179 births per woman, which is a decrease of 0.95 percent from the fertility rate in 2020. It is possible for infertility and its complications, such as miscarriages, to have a significant impact on the overall health and quality of life of couples. It is possible that they will experience psychological and interpersonal pain, which may have an effect on every aspect of their lives and, in certain circumstances, the lives of their extended families as well.

The in vitro fertilisation, also known as IVF, is considered to be one of the most effective treatments for infertility. When compared to the success rate of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment in the United States and other developed nations, India's success rate is comparable. A well-known figure in the field of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment in India is Dr. Nandita Palshetkar. Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) are the primary focus of her work as a key innovator in in vitro fertilization (IVF) centers. She has been a leader in assisting approximately 25,000 infertile couples in conceiving their own children, and she has been successful in doing so. An assured IVF success rate of 35 to 40 percent in beginning cycles in women under the age of 35 is one of the reasons why Dr. Nandita Palshetkar is quickly becoming one of the most trusted resources for women who are struggling with infertility concerns.

FAQ's

Freeze your biological clock until the time is right for you!

Will this process remove all of my eggs?

One to two million immature oocytes (eggs) are present in a woman's ovaries at birth. Each month, a woman's eggs develop as a cohort; one follicle (an immature egg) finally becomes dominant and ovulates, while the remaining (non-dominant) follicles are lost due to atresia. So, rather than at ovulation, a woman will lose the majority of her eggs due to atresia. The non-dominant follicles are "rescued" by IVF drugs and are collected for cryopreservation by egg retrieval rather than being lost as they would be in atresia. The follicles and eggs that would have otherwise been lost are "rescued" by this technique.

How long will I be on medicine before the retrieval?

For an average of 10 to 12 days, injectable medicines are needed to stimulate the ovaries. Monitoring with ultrasound will normally be needed four to five times while taking medicine. You will experience an egg retrieval once stimulated follicles have matured into eggs, which typically happens after two weeks.

Can I still Work?

Your work life will be uninterrupted aside from your monitoring sessions, which will happen four times over the course of about two weeks. You will need to take off one day of work if you have a retrieval during the workweek. Weekend egg retrieval techniques are accessible, however follicle growth determines the exact timing of an egg retrieval.

What does it feel like to go through the egg freezing process?

Making a consultation appointment is the first step towards freezing your eggs. You will go into greater detail about your medical background and the egg freezing technique at that time. An ultrasound and blood tests are done if you wish to proceed. Before you start taking medicine for the egg freezing cycle, your doctor will use the results of these tests to customise your stimulation regimen and provide you advice regarding your personal success rates.

How do I start for egg freezing cycle ?

To freeze your eggs, you must schedule a consultation visit first. You can go into greater detail about the egg freezing method and your medical history at that time. Blood tests and an ultrasound are carried out if you choose to proceed. Prior to beginning treatment for the egg freezing cycle, these tests will allow your doctor to customise your stimulation regimen and provide you advice on your personal success rates.

What is the success rate?

The woman's age and egg-freezing technique affect the success rate. The use of vitrification on younger ladies offers the highest success rates. In order to have a child later, women under the age of 36 need to freeze about 12 eggs, whereas older women with less eggs only need to save 7% to 10% of their eggs. As eggs get older, the success rate declines.

IVF Success Rates

The success rate of IVF, both in India and around the world, depends greatly on the standards of IVF clinics and laboratories. The most crucial factors are the treating physician's experience, the quantity of cases handled, the clinic's pregnancy rate, and its live birth rate. We should be aware that doctors with more than 25 years of expertise and more than 10,000 patients under their care will undoubtedly be able to handle challenging situations.

Most ladies are anxious about the injections but are subsequently relieved to discover how tiny and easy they are. You will be sedated throughout the egg retrieval operation, which will last between 15 and 30 minutes. Thereafter, you could feel slight discomfort, bloating, and spotting. The next day, the majority of women return to work.

PCOS and Fertility

Currently, PCOS is one of the syndromes most frequently observed in female patients. And it is among the most frequent causes of conceiving problems. When you have PCOS, your ovaries typically have more follicles that develop into cysts and immature follicles.

Women with PCOS typically have elevated amounts of androgen (greater in men). Although androgens are often metabolised to oestrogens, excessive quantities of androgens can prevent ovulation from occurring (development of egg). Pregnancy is not likely if a mature egg is not released. In addition, PCOS can lead to irregular periods. Your hormone levels can be normalised by altering your lifestyle and losing roughly 10% of your body weight if you are obese. Your chances of naturally ovulating and getting pregnant increase if your hormone levels return to normal. A change in lifestyle, which includes eating well, exercising, quitting smoking and drinking, managing stress, and managing any underlying medical concerns, can help to normalise hormone levels and return the menstrual cycle to normal.

However keep in mind that you cannot use oral contraceptives if you are attempting to get pregnant. You should see a fertility doctor in these situations, who will recommend drugs that will encourage ovulation and result in conception. Insulin sensitizers may occasionally be used in conjunction with ovulation medications to aid in ovulation and conception. Just keep in mind that seeing a fertility professional is crucial so they can determine the best course of action for you. Other methods, like IUI and IVF, can help you produce a pregnancy if you are unable to conceive naturally. If natural means have failed, this increases your chances of becoming pregnant. Women with PCOS struggle with empty follicles.

Best IVF Specialist India

Finding a fertility doctor may be quite stressful, and infertility is a terrible experience for any couple to go through. The majority of the time, they would receive advice from their friends, family, and relatives that was very different, and they would be right back where they started. Patients may occasionally receive advice from their family doctor or gynaecologist, but in this day of social media, google, and all other modalities, patients will always conduct their own research before selecting their doctor.

When looking for an IVF expert, there are a few factors you should consider. Verify the facility's experience and track record. Consider how many years of experience they have as well as the range of situations they have handled in the past, including endometriosis, PCOS, unexplained infertility, etc.

There are instances where a patient may have experienced repeated miscarriages or multiple ivf failures. In such cases there are centre’s with more experience that specialise in these kind of situations. Also, some centres have more advanced technology than others, which can contribute to higher pregnancy rates. As a result, it is advisable to contact such centres to ensure that you can have the best outcome. You should take into account a few factors when selecting an IVF specialist. While selecting a fertility specialist, make sure that all of these are checked off your list.
